Trip 2008: Time with the Haydens

The Crew for the Weekend.

The first destination on Trip 2008 was the home of the gracious Hayden family. We were delighted to spend the weekend with this kind family, visiting, singing, working, worshiping together--plus we were able to attend the Christian Family Entrepreneurship Seminar

The guys: Right down to the business of catching up.

The younger guys: Right down to the business of playing.

Creative angles with the camera, by Sarah.

Wade Myers gave several solid, biblicaly based, practical lectures on how christian families should be involved in entrepreneurship. Very helpful in considering future endeavors. We took lots of notes. : ) Photo credits: Caleb Hayden. Click here for a full report on the seminar.

The crowd at 300 strong. Photo credits--Caleb Hayden.

Rebecca running the Genevan Foundation table.

Jesse and Crystal Paine were panelists during one of the sessions.

It was fascinating talking with Mr. Pittenger.

Saturday evening, we enjoyed an informal hymn-sing around the piano.

Capturing memories.

The Serven, Bryant, and Hayden ladies pose for a photograph.

Visiting around .

Playing after dark.

The ubiquitous tree fort.

The three sweet S's. : )

We enjoyed getting to know Crystal Paine a little bit better during the weekend.

Visiting around the family meal table, Sunday evening.

Awww. What a sweet picture . . .

Hmm. I think I see a pattern here. Porch swings equal potential silliness!

Dear Sarah Kate,

That's so sweet of you. : ) The blouse was a thrift store find. I enjoy learning about colors, which shades look best on different people, etc. It's amazing to see how God created each individual to look well in different colors. Have you studied this at all?

I wear my hair down mostly during the winter time as the midwest humidity keeps me pretty warm during the summer. One of the perks of winter chilliness is new hairstyles. : ) Another is scarves and hats! Summer time though, I usually keep my hair up off my neck.

Dear Sarah,

Yes, we had a very sweet visit with the Haydens. I particularly enjoyed visiting with Lydia and Mrs. Hayden. We had some excellent talks. I hope you can meet them someday!

We used to have a porch swing a few houses ago, and ever since then, I've had a particular fondness for them.

You all were so kind to have us in your home! Thanks again for your generous hospitality. Did you successfully complete all your canning and freezing? We have a few tomatoes left in the garden, plus basil, green beans, and flowers. That's about it! Not too much left.

Resting in His joy,
Rebecca

Dear Sarah Lee,

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! : ) We were so glad to meet you family too. Sorry my e-mail was so short the other day; we are still getting re-settled and caught up. : ) I'll look forward to sending a longer e-mail soon. Thanks for all your sweet encouragement.

Resting in His joy,
Rebecca
