Balance Beam.
When we moved to our house 3 years ago, there was one thing that we could never figure out: How were we going to change the light bulbs and clean the chandelier in our stairwell? The space is large enough that you can't reach the fixture from the side railing, and precariously tall for a ladder. We thought about how to solve this problem for a long time without coming up with any solutions. Finally though, the dead bulbs couldn't be ignored any longer. : )
We called our builder and he was kind to send some men to help us out. They measured some "2 by 6's" to fit, and bravely walked out to accomplish the deed. With their coaching and help, I think our guys can take care of it next time. The question is, will they do it when Mom is home or not? : ) We sure wouldn't want her to be worried!
Notice anything else unusual?
Taking notes. : )

P.S. Did he do any backflips while he was up there??
They're not socks, they're the footwear of the experts.
I hope they cleaned the fixture for you, too:-)
Ah, nothing like a good skywalk when you need one, eh? Unusual... well, the chap isn't wearing shoes, it appears he's only got his stockings on. Hard to see such details, though. There also appears to be someone else on the floor below, right about where the poor fellow might land should he take a tumble and bounce down the stairs a bit. But we won't plan on that happening. Yes, construction and maintenance is not for those fearful of heights. Walking a sill plate on a 20 foot wall, or sitting a roof working new shingles are not the sorts of things for the faint of heart. Oh, but the view from such places can be magnificent.
That's too funny!!!
One would never me doing that job!
Rebecca,
I made an error, he isn't wearing long sleeves! Sorry about that!

My knees went weak!
Dear Andrea,
No backflips to report. : )
Dear Anonymous,
Exactly my sentiments.
Dear Renee,
Yes, they did! That was high up on the priority list besides changing the bulbs.
Mr. Jesch,
We've been having more examples of manly courage with the boards this week--several of my brothers are battling "Ladybug Season" kindly for us. When the soybeans are harvested, we have several weeks of "Ladybugs", actually Asian Beetles, which descend upon us.
Dear simplysanctified,
Yes, it was pretty fun! And nerve wracking too!
Dear Tammy,
I would be loath to to that job as well. : )
Dear Johanna,
That's ok. : )
Dear Tammi,
I'm glad for such manly men who can accomplish things like that!
Resting in His joy,
Rebecca
Thank you, Rebecca! :)
So, really, what was the unusal thing?! ;)
