Reformation Day Faire: Saturday

This is a real Scottish event.

The George Family.

Sarah in her Muffin Cap. Isn't that a great name! : )

Serven lads: modern and period clothing.

Brothers fighting--the good kind of fighting, that is.

Swords and shields galore.

Meeting friends of friends who are new friends: Doves, Servens, LaPris.

We,too, really enjoyed the Reformation Faire! Thank you for blessing us with your demonstration of Psalm singing. As we listen to the cd's we can picture your beautiful family. God bless you all.

You are so very kind. We enjoy singing, and are thrilled to introduce the love of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to anyone who cares to listen. : ) May the Lord richly bless as you seek to grow in praising Him!

Resting in His joy,
Rebecca

Does look real Scottish....including y'all! Are y'all Scottish? We're part German and have some Scotch-Irish on both my Mom and my Dad's sides. Our last name 'Kautt' is German. I a quater German!!!

Wow, Sarah's cap does look like a muffin!

In the picture of Nathan and Peter fighting, doesn't it look like Peter is about to fall on his knees?

I'd better go and wish we could've been there. I'm sure it was fun!

Blessings,

Johanna Kautt

Your blog is very interesting!
I heard about it from Sarah B. :)
I will return. :)

Rebekah,
I enjoyed seeing your costumes. They look like a lot of work. You mentioned your brothers can sew too. I think that's a great skill to have. My dad can sew very well, and is always there for me to go to with my sewing "predicaments" I get into. :) Glad to have you back. Have a great day.

Rebecca,
I am so sorry I spelled your name wrong above. I wasn't thinking right, I guess. :-)
And hello, to Rebekah W. (that's not a missprint. :0)

Dear Johanna,

We are Dutch, German, Scottish, and English. A genuine smorgasbord of Western European nations.

Dear Rebekah W,

Welcome to our blog! Any friend of SarahLee is a new friend of ours. : )

Dear Sarah Lee,

That's fun that your father sews too. It's a good skill to have tucked in your back pocket. I've also taught several younger young men how to knit and crochet. Just as girls should have a basic working knowledge of tying knots, woodworking, cars, etc, it seems that boys should generally understand the basics of those kinds of things.

My only caveat, is that you want to preserve men's and women's distinction and not have all the boys dressed up in frilly aprons and the girls working out in grubbies. : )

No problem on the misspelling. Happens all the time. : )

Resting in His joy,
Rebecca

Rebecca,

Good thoughts on sewing. :-) My dad sews all sorts of things, and like you said that girls should learn various skills as well, things like that do come in handy!

And though I used to dress my little brothers up (when they were babies) I don't do that anymore. They won't let me. :-)

Dear Rebecca,

Well, I bet we have some Dutch in us and we have English in us, of course. :) Isn't it amazing how many different ancestral backgrounds one family can have?! ;)

Dear Sarah,

Yes, it's always fun to dress up. : ) Just not very practical sometimes!

Dear Johanna,

Isn't it amazing to see the histories that the Lord has woven for each of us?! It's very exciting to think about our children, grandchildren, great grand children and beyond and to be able to pray for them.

Resting in His joy,
Rebecca
