Off to California

Practicing for Grandma's concert in California.

We bid farewell to Peter last night, and this morning say goodbye to our kind hosts the Roaches. Tonight's destination? Salt Lake City, and then we're California bound.

Oh, we thought you might enjoy a few evidences of Peter's presence. : )

No laughing!

Hold it . . .

Success!

The Second Serven Family Reunion is underway! Peter surprised us and showed up in New Mexico. Were we ever shocked. What a delightful time. : ) We've not seen him for several months, so this is an extra special treat.

Midwesterners at the Coast

California Treasures.

After a wonderful week at the WCWC, our hosts kindly took us to visit the coast. What a wonderful hour spent at the fogged-in ocean. Very memorable and beautiful.

A Missourian experiences the Pacific ocean for the first time.

Mr. Pelican poses with us and our tour guides for the day.

Evidence of a Californian Cousin to Ms. Good Human: "If you feed them just once, they will loose their fear of humans and their ability to fish! They will harass humans and will eventually starve to death."

More Goodbyes

Both Melissa and I really enjoyed our conversations with Bethany, sweet wife and soon to be mother, from the sponsoring church, Reformed Heritage.

Q & A

Rousing questions on all subjects.

Small Groups

Each morning, these young women and I would meet to discuss the lectures. The girls all had a desire to grow in serving the Lord. We spoke of trusting in God, reading His word, relationships in our family, and other applications from the speakers talks. What an privilege.

Sweet Sisters

I was overjoyed to get to know the
Seppi girls at the WCWC. These joyful young women were such an encouragement in the Lord. Talking with them was one of the highlights of the trip. : ) Along with their brothers, the girls brought several filmmakers from Irish Television Network. The filmmakers were doing a documentary on the Seppi's family beekeeping business. As they got to know them better, they grew curious about why they are so "different" from the average beekeeper. The Seppis have pointed their new friends to Christ as they continue to walk through the documentary process, graciously sharing their family lives, stories, and beliefs. Exciting times for Christ's Kingdom!

Dressed Up

Col. Eidesmoe dressed as a Templar Knight for one talk, minus the chain mail. TSA frowned on bringing that along--too heavy!

The Setting

Redwoods abounded on the campus.

Home sweet home--for the week.

The dorms we stayed in.

Eidsmoe at WCWC

I loved listening to Col. Eidsmoe on the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. Absolutely fascinating!

New Friends

Melissa and I were so pleased to make Jessica's acquaintance while at the WCWC. What a delight to meet such a precious girl who seeks to honor the Lord!

Absent from the Body, Present with the Lord

Be in prayer for God's comfort for the Moeller family, especially today.

Mrs. Moeller gave powerful testimony of the Lord's joy and contentment in the midst of suffering. She was called home this past week. May the Lord's name be praised for the life of this godly woman. He is our Sovereign King.

Proverbs 31:28-31
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
