Elizabeth Seymour wearing a French Hood.
This seamstress is stuck. The sleeves I'd been working on just aren't making sense. I don't really have a pattern . . . just some little drawings from a book.
So, while I'm pondering the sleeves, I thought I would work on the French Hood. So far, so good! Currently finishing up sewing millinery wire to the buckram form.

I'm glad that's working! French hoods are so pretty and feminine. I should have made one to complete my outfit, but I'll admire yours instead:) Hope you get it all done before your deadline!
Either of these of any help with your sleeves?

Hang in there - you're doing marvellously well with it all by the look of things!
I like your new background...was actually on here when you put it up! :)
have fun sewing...you are doing things way beyond me but i look forward to seeing pictures!
Miss Rebecca, your fearlessness at wading in way over your head is impressive. I've no doubt that, as you persevere (and search out the needed help) you WILL succeed.
One silly question, though... is the wad of foil, pictured a few days ago, what will be used to poof up the sleeves? From the first image of the "target" gown, it looks like one place you could "hide" such a thing. Of course, that's just a wild guess... what do I know about vintage gowns and such?
Anticipating the proof of victory........
Dear Rebecca,
So do we get to see pictures of the final product?
It sounds like its coming together. Hope all is going well in the trip prep.
Love,
Beth
Thank you for all the pictures from Ben's birthday. It was fun seeing home, via the computer

May The Lord bless you all with a wonderful time at the Reformation500. We wish we could be there!
