I must clarify. Our guys have always played, and especially since they've lived in TX their skills have much improved. However, though many kind friends in CA volunteered to teach us, we never quite set our mind to learning. With such a friendly crowd in CO, I couldn't resist and decided to give it the ol' college try. And it was much more fun that I had anticipated! Now we just need some more practice.

Dear Abby,

We did have fun playing out of doors. We've tried playing in our backyard a few times since our CO experience, but we have a long way to go. Too bad you don't live right around the corner so we could practice together!

Dear Johanna,

The other day, we also got out the frisbee and my brother Nathan coached us girls on basic throwing skills. : ) Lots to learn.

Resting in His joy,
RebeccaThe Serven Clanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15467723139082767279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10615413.post-65070464884665263542008-07-07T15:47:00.000-05:002008-07-07T15:47:00.000-05:00Wow! He has too much energy and needs to get rid of some! Ultimate frisbee WILL get rid of any extra energy!

I loved all the pictures and I sure hope y'all had fun in Colorado!

Better go now!

Johanna KauttAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10615413.post-64646951364682477462008-07-04T11:40:00.000-05:002008-07-04T11:40:00.000-05:00It looks like you all had a lovely time in the bea...It looks like you all had a lovely time in the beautiful state of Colorado! (Happy belated birthday to Nathan!) It looks like the party was a success! My elder brother Joel, after we visited Colorado in 2005 made a sign that reads: "COLORado, the name says it all."

It looks like you had a grand time playing / learning to play vollyball! Vollyball is one of my favorites, we used to have a neighbor who'd tolerate our noise and let us use his back yard to play many rounds during the summer. It can be quite exhausting though!

Blessings,
AbbyThe Kauttshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08332057136959162384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10615413.post-5949825483792827072008-07-02T13:13:00.000-05:002008-07-02T13:13:00.000-05:00Victory, indeed!! Good work, all!
One thing does strike me as rather odd, though, from this excellent post. Having spent so much time on the Central Coast of California, I find it amazing that you Servens haven't played much volleyball. It seems to be one of the quintessential Southern California group sports/recreational activities. Our annual church family camp is in another week, last year we must have played more than six hours total... and I am certainly looking forward to some serious Vball again this year. It always takes a bit to get limbered up and find my arms again.... but even that's fun. A great game, nearly anyone can play. Even very young children will take the court and give a good effort. Many good lessons to be learned on the court. And the one you had there in Colorado looks like an excellent one. Who would have imagined a "beach court" in Colorado?Nick Jeschhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12590045434710159571noreply@blogger.com
